Mark your calendar: 28 March, 2023, at 2:30 AM EDT / 6:30 AM GMT / 8:30 AM CEST/ 10:30 AM GST / 2:30 PM SGT / 5:30 PM AEDT for 90 minutes. Please Note: A recording of this webinar will be available to view after it has aired. See instructions at the bottom of this page.

Assessment is crucial because it generates feedback to guide learning and contributes to formal decisions about career progression. However, variability in assessment practices may produce inconsistencies and reduce confidence in outcomes.

This webinar will provide an overview of quality assurance processes that can be implemented to ensure that assessments are reliable, valid, and fair. This webinar will explore various quality assurance processes that can be used to improve assessment utility in health profession education. The webinar will also examine the use of technology, such as artificial intelligence, to enhance assessment practices. Participants will gain an understanding of how quality assurance processes can be used to optimize assessment in health profession education and ensure that graduates are well-prepared to meet the needs of patients and society.

The session will be facilitated by international experts who developed the book Understanding Assessment in Medical Education Through Quality Assurance. The book addresses a key gap in the literature by offering an international confluence of best practice in relation to quality assurance of assessment systems both within academic institutions and at the level of national and international accreditation.
